| Pope Innocent X (after Velazquez) My painting is of a detail from Velazquez's famous work completed in 1650. This detail is 12" x 16". The Pope's head is the same size as in Velazquez's original. In this painting we tried to capture the sly, suspicious nature of the Pope which Velazquez is said to have rendered so well. The Pope, on viewing Velazquez's work, remarked "all too true".
